Who would be the audience for your media product?
Identifying potential audience is essential in the film making progress as it has a significant effect on how we market our product. The reason why is because you'll going to have to market your product which is going to most likely grab the attention of your age group to get as much money as you can. For this question I made a decision to get the video camera out and interview a variety of people. Interviewing people allowed us to find our suitable target audience. From this we were able to collect information about various people. We interviewed adults and teenagers to get a real variety of results. The more different types of people we ask the more accurate the results will be. The questions we asked in the interview were the same for each person.
Our ideal audience is young male teenagers who are the age between 15-25. Our research and interviews told us that our ideal audience would be young males who socialise, shop down the high street and that listen to Goth or Alternative music. This is a good audience profile for us because if our audience socialise they'll share the product with other people therefore gaining more of a following and free word of mouth advertising. Also if they socialise, there's more of a chance they've got more of a chance of going to the cinema and watching our film. If our audience shop down the high street they've got more of a chance of having spare money as this is an expensive place to shop. This is ideal for us as they can use that disposable income to pay to go to the cinema and watch our film. Finally, if our audience listen to Goth music they'll love the film in which they get from horror films and they'd be into blood as well.
Overall, from interviewing all the people we did we've decided our age range is males between 15 and 25. The reason why is because the main character is a young hot, blonde which appealed to the younger males. The adults who we asked were over the age of 25, they said that the film wouldn't appeal to them as they generally didn't like horror movies at all. The results suggested that young males are more into zombie horrors than any other sex and age group.
I placed a sample of the interviews d onto a Prezi presentation that can be viewed below.

Also to further audience research we asked to 100 people (50 Males and 50 females) whether they would pay to watch our zombie film. From the results on the pie chart showed that 80% of the males we asked would pay to watch our film. Which shows the majority of the males compared to the females which only showed 20% of them would pay to watch our Zombie film.

To back up our audience research we filmed our ideal audience watching our opening title sequence. By doing this we were able to get feedback from them. The people who we filmed were:
>Connor Dokic 21
>Dan Seamarks 18
>Jack Pedley 17
Connor and Dan were filmed watching our opening sequence through a computer. Jack however watched our sequence through his phone this showed that how our sequence could be played using different media platforms and technologies reflecting how our target audience use and consume media texts in 2014. All three people I filmed had great things to say about our sequence which again backs up our audience research.
