This is an example of Bass' work. Psycho was released in 1960 and Bass was the designer of the opening title sequence. He created an exhilarating and intriguing sequence which manages to suck the audience in with its fantastic use of non-diegetic sound. The music is very dramatic and full of suspense. It is very fast paced and very discordant, giving the feeling that you are being chased. A lot of the titles Bass designed share the same title theme and don't use any motion images.
